Cancellation, Reschedule & Refund Policy

The outcome depends on how much notice you give before the session start time:

Credit is added to your RSJ account, valid for 12 months, and can be applied to any future RSJ booking at checkout. Because credit never goes through the card networks, it is always the clean band value with no deductions.

RSJ members can reschedule a booking to another available date and time from their portal, free of charge with 3 or more days notice. Rescheduling releases your original slot back to the booking calendar for another surfer. One reschedule per booking.

Cash refunds are made only in these cases, are not self-service (they are reviewed and approved by RSJ), and always carry a small payment-handling fee of £5 + 3% to cover the card-processing fee retained on refunds plus admin time:

• —RSJ cancels the session (coach unavailable, or a safety/weather call) — 100% value, your choice of full credit or cash (minus the handling fee).
• —A verified medical emergency or bereavement, with reasonable evidence, at RSJ’s discretion — credit by default, cash on goodwill.
• —A genuine payment or duplicate-charge error — corrected in full.

To request a refund under these circumstances, use the Request a refund option on your booking and our team will review it.

Programme and camp deposits are non-refundable; instalments follow their own schedule. Membership subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, with no refund of the current billing period.

Surf sessions are leisure activities provided on a specific date, which under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 are exempt from the 14-day cancellation (cooling-off) right. Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights where a service is not provided as described, including under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
